FAQs

What is the Marina Bay Singapore Countdown all about?

Since its inception in 2005, the Marina Bay Singapore Countdown (MBSC) has become the nation’s largest and most spectacular New Year’s Eve celebration.

Proudly presented by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), the event hopes to create a New Year’s Eve tradition that is unique to Singapore and offers an opportunity for the community to bond in a meaningful way.

Themed “Bay of Hopes and Dreams”, the MBSC this year will also see event partners and stakeholders around the precinct coming together to join in the season of giving to those in need. This will take the form of a charity event, Santa Run for Wishes, organised by Make-A-Wish Foundation and introduction of a MBSC charity trail powered by the LocoMole app.

As a tradition, URA continues to invite members of the public to pen their wishes for the New Year online. Overseas Singaporeans and friends of Singapore can also be part of this meaningful celebration by penning their wishes here.

Where can I purchase tickets to participate in the various events at Marina Bay?

While most of the activities around the bay are non-ticketed, The Picnic & Fireworks Viewing held at The Float @ Marina Bay is a ticketed zone with special programmes and offers an unobstructed view of the spectacular fireworks display. You may refer to the individual event listing here.

When and where is the countdown sequence?

This year’s countdown sequence begins one minute before midnight on 31 December 2017, projected on the façade of The Fullerton Hotel Singapore, leading into a 6-minute fireworks display at the stroke of midnight.
